Maryon…& On

Maryon Park is stained with the memory of a film: Blow Up (Michelangelo Antonioni, 1966) and by extension, another film. Set in the same location, it is one that I created, it remains unpublished, incomplete and deleted, it exists only in my memory. Attempting to exorcise those ghosts of Maryon Park, I launched an acoustic investigation into the audible and inaudible elements of its soundscape, documenting its essence in digital audio.

Inspired by personal recollections of weird and eerie childhood folk horror TV themes, the audio is layered with teenage synth vibes, that together create a sonic memory, an acoustic evocation where time is disjointed and the sense of place is adrift, it resonates with the hauntological.
